Whimple Primary School is seeking to appoint one person to carry out the Clerk to Governors role, reporting to the Chair of Governors. The role will be term time only (38 weeks per year). On average this works out at 2.5 hours per week. Some weeks it can be more, and some less, depending on whether there is a meeting.
There are approximately 13 Governor Meetings per academic year, 7 Full Governing Body, 3 Finance Committee and 3 Teaching and Learning committee. The role is that of supporting the governing body with high quality and effective Clerking. This involves advising the board, performing administrative duties, including effective minute taking. This position requires outstanding organisational skills. The meetings take place outside of the school day.
Training can be arranged for the role, and there are termly Clerk briefings with our Training advisers – Babcock LDP. Babcock advisers are at the end of the telephone for assistance when needed.
