Administrative Assistant - part time 6.5-19.5hrs

This is a permanent post to commence as early as possible in the Summer Term 2024.

The post will be at a Grade C level - the Full time equivalent is £23,500 - £24,294 per annum. Hourly Rate £12.18-£12.59 depending on experience. It is term time only.

Exe Valley Federation and Whimple Primary School are seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual to carry out the role of Administrative Assistant. There is some flexibility to the role, but the minimum requirement is for an indivdual to work at Whimple Primary School on a Friday in the School Office between 8.45am-3.45pm (6.5hrs). There is potential for further work within the Federation at other Primary Schools if the candidate is interested in more hours, up to 3 days, 19.5hrs.

Working in a busy, fast paced office environment, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication and administrative skills and be able to maintain high levels of organisation and accuracy whilst working to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.

Candidates will also be required to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, staff and visitors to the school. A good standard of English and Maths is essential as well as experience in the use of IT, with a secure knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google.

You will:

•          Support the day to day running of a busy school office

•          Act as a first stop for incoming post, phone calls, e-mails and distribute as appropriate

•          Collate items for the school newsletter and other communications, electronic and paper based

•          Administer the school website ensuring that it is up to date and meets the main audience needs

•          Input and update school data systems as required

•          Assist in the administration of school events

•          Administer the planning of after school club attendees / payments

•          Support the management of the schools electronic payment system

•          Assist with maintaining high standards of Health and Safety in school

•          Assist the School Administrator / Headteacher / Federation Business Manager

The role and work of the School Administrative Assistant also involves dealing with sensitive and confidential information. It is essential that the highest level of confidentiality in relation to school matters is maintained.
