Rugby World Cup

In 2015 England will host the Rugby World Cup. One of the host cities will be Exeter and our school will be joining nineteen other Devon Primary Schools to take part in a project to celebrate the event. Jesse and Mollie from year 5 were chosen as our Rugby ambassadors. It will be our current year fives who take part in the project. Here they are setting off to Sandy Park, home of the Exeter Chiefs, our local side. All the ambassadors from the schools taking part went to Sandy Park to meet some of the Exeter Chiefs and to watch the grand draw which linked us to one of the countries taking part in the tournament.
The Mayor of Exeter drew the school names and the country names out to see who each school will link with. Our team is Canada. Our year fours have to complete a project on their team’s country and will play in the Devon Schools World Cup tournament as this side. They will be coached by the Exeter Chiefs staff and the tournament final will be at Sandy Park. If you want to find out how we get on check back to this page during the Rugby World Cup.
We arrived at Sandy Park to take part in the Tag Rugby World Cup on 18th September - the opening day of the World Cup. We were really competative in our pool stage matches and secured a win and a draw. Unfortunately to losses meant that we did not qualify for the next round but we had a fantastic day.
